Originally from Waterloo, Ontario, William Nicoll joined the NIRB as Environmental Technologist in 2017. As part of the Communications team William is responsible for managing the NIRB’s online presence, maintaining and operating its conferencing and interpreting audio equipment, ensuring its adherence to access to information protocols as well as providing a wide range of logistical support for its public events. William brings with him extensive experience working and communicating with the public, having acted in roles such as coxswain of a Canadian Coast Guard search and rescue team, instructor and manager for Nunavut Arctic College as well as volunteer Chairperson for the Cambridge Bay Childcare Society. He holds a BA from Memorial University of Newfoundland and has training and experience in environmental response through his work with the Coast Guard. When not at work William can be found in town playing and recording music or out on the land exploring the tundra with his friends and family.
