William Nicoll joined the NIRB team as Environmental Technologist in 2017. Originally from Waterloo, Ontario, he moved to St. John’s, Newfoundland in 2007, Taloyoak, Nunavut in 2014, and finally to Cambridge Bay, Nunavut in 2016. William brings with him extensive experience working and communicating with the public, having acted in roles such as Coxswain of a Canadian Coast Guard search and rescue team and as an instructor and manager for Nunavut Arctic College. He holds a BA from Memorial University of Newfoundland and has training and experience in environmental response through his work with the Coast Guard. William currently sits as the Chair of the Cambridge Bay Childcare Society. When not at work, William enjoys playing and recording music as well as heading out on the land with his young family.
